Twice a year, the beautiful Italian city of Siena comes alive for one of the world's most breathtaking festivals, Il Palio. This centuries-old horse race features jockeys riding bare back and competing for a painted silk banner. To capture the dynamic elements of this theme, Scriptura illustrated a scene from Siena's main square. Revelers and horsemen are depicted in bright medieval clothing. A three-dimensional pop up element adds to the delight, and heightens anticipation.
